Work fits to make bread
Hello, Lovelies,
I hope you all stay safe and social distancing. Times are weird and uncertain, but the sure thing is that you can always expect a blog post from me. I thought it would be cool/ironic to do a quick work outfit blog post of different outfits that you could wear to work (depending on your job, more tailored to an office job). I made the very first TikTok that goes along with this post ( not going to lie… I had to ask my 14 yrs old sister how to use TikTok - she had to show me step by step). I only took pictures of 2 out of the four outfits in my TikTok, but I will describe them each below in the order they appear in the TikTok. All the outfits, but number 2, are what I wear to work. Outfit 3 is similar to what I wear on the daily.
I paired a button-up black ribbed shirt with brown plaid pants, added on a thrifted silver, black bet, and last wore black boots. The button-up shirt was stretchy, which is comfy for moving around in at work. The pants are wide, which allows for leg movement for those that tend to walk around more at work. I love to wear baggy pants at work because though I am in sales and stay at my desk. I like to move my legs and sit in different positions to keep my blood circulating. For the belt around the waist, once you have buckled it, I would suggest looping it to add a bit of a new look. This technique helps when there are not any belt loops on your pants, and you don't want it to hang awkwardly.
This outfit is more dressy, and I honestly wouldn't wear it to my current job because I am in tech sales BUTTT if I was in the fashion industry, I definitely would. I paired a lace long sleeve top with a long ribbed knitted burnt orange skit. The skit is very stretchy, which allows for a lot of leg movement, and it is long enough to be professional. I added on a burnt orange cardigan because the top was see-through.
This outfit is more similar to what I wear to work daily. I paired a crop stripe sweater with high waisted baggy aqua pants and black boots. This outfit is very relaxed; the pants are flowy to wear during the spring and summer
I love bell sleeves and was super excited to find this one from Forever 21. I paired it will pink high-waisted pants. I would always recommend pairing black or any neutral color top with colored pants as the simplest way to add color to your wardrobe without going crazy. In the wintertime, I love to wear my black and white plaid tweed jacket. Tweed jackets are warm and a great way to add some patterns to your outfits.
I hope this gave you some ideas and inspiration when you are building your work wardrobe. I understand most people do have uniform wear, but you can also wear these outfits to a professional event or even out to brunch/lunch/dinner.
