Look back at 2018. Thank u, next

Happy New Years everyone, I hope you all had a great holiday break with your family and friends. What did you do on New Years?

I was fortunate enough to be able to celebrate Christmas and New Years in China with my grandparents and relatives. This is the first New Year that I was able to celebrate it with my grandparents. I am glad my sister and I were able to accompany them during the beginning of the New Years.

It is crazy to think a year ago I was celebrating new years at Lights All Nights with my friends and now this year I'm celebrating it with my grandparents in China. Time flies by so fast…

2018 definitely has been one of the busiest years I have ever had. There were lots of new jobs, new friends, new experiences, and new memories.

Looking back it was a big growing year. In 2018, starting from the beginning I got to go to LAN with my friends and celebrate my best friends 22nd birthday. I traveled a lot in 2018, I flew to Seattle with my boyfriend and explored the city. I went on a lot of other small trips with my friends. I went to CHINA after 5 years. (Check my Travel tab for places I have been and my experiences). I DYED my hair back to jet black, that was fun. I went to my first painting with a twist with other couples and got drunk and painted. I had a blast and would recommend it for any couple outing. The instructors are super cool and they help you step by step and you become Picasso within 2 hours. ( They always have discounted nights) I experience failure this year at GoodPhil when I was thrown in as the quarterback with a new team and we lost terribly. In return, this is making us more ready for this year because we know what to prepare for. I ended my year and a half term of presidency for my sorority and passed it down to my pledge sister. I became inactive and focused on school. I had the chance to host and create Houston’s very first 281-Night Market. I learned stress and time management through that. I also met a lot of different incredible business owners and learned more in-depth about the food industry in Houston. Best of all I celebrated mine and all my best friends ( FAB 4 ) 21st birthdays. It was awesome and very heartwarming to see us grow from sweet 16 to legal 21. In the summer I went to EDC for the second time and had a great time there with my friends, somewhere there for the first time. ( If you are interested in learning about my rave experiences, please let me know. ) I got into University of Houston Program for Excellence in selling, one of the oldest and largest sales program in the nation. Learned so much and met so many amazing people through the program. I started my senior year with 18 hours, a job, an internship, and PES. The first semester of senior year was a lot of work, I was beyond busy trying to hit quota, get all A’s, and also keep up with my internship. I had the opportunity to intern at Magical Winter Light. I met a great friend, Ryan and also learned to work under a not so great manager. Had good and bad days there, but overall was a wonderful internship experience. A lot of great things happened through my fall semester: I was ranked 3rd in all sales, I got a mentor that I had idolize when I was a freshman, I got 4 A’s and 2 B’s, I got accepted into Key Accounts ( top 20 students of the program), ended my internship successfully, and lastly got my GPA up. I always struggle with having a high GPA, because I always focused on the extracurricular, to me numbers don’t define a person it is what they do and what they can do.

Last but not least, in the year 2018 I STARTED THIS BLOG : )

2018 definitely was a lot of hard work and constantly keeping up with school. I am glad I ended it well and successfully. It is bittersweet now start 2019 and starting the last semester of my undergraduate career. These past 3 and a half years have been so amazing with the experiences, lessons, and people. I am ready for 2019 and I know it has good things to bring as long as I continue to work and keep my mind and goal on track. I already have resolutions and things I want to improve and work on. What are your 2019 resolutions?

2018 Thank u, next ~
