Wine&Dine Birth Bash
Hello Lovlies,
This past week I turned 22 and celebrated my birthday with some of my closes friends. It was such a great experience and I had a wonderful time. My birthday overall has been nothing but love. Now that I’m 22 I honestly don’t feel any different on the outside but the inside, I know that it is another milestone that I have reached. With this new year of being another year older, I know that there is a lot to be learned and done. I am excited to start my year of being 22 with new places to travel to, new friends/old friends, a big girl job, and much much more. Of course, there is also the uncertainty that lies with being another year older…. am where I want to be? I know that I have started my path to figuring out and building my future foundation. I started budgeting… it has been two weeks… we will circle back on that later but so far it has kept me on track with my spending. I do get the urge to splurge but I know that I need to save my money in order to live a comfortable life and reach my year-end financial goals ( I still will spurge a-little at the moment if it makes me the happiest. What is the point of saving all your money and being super-rich if you aren’t happy).
Onto my birthday celebration and the true reason for my post. On my birthday a couple of my friends and I went on a wine “tour” in Fredericksburg, Texas. I say “tour” because it was more like winery hop. Along the 290 roads, there are about 17 wineries/vineyard but in Fredericksburg total, there are many more because they have small local ones along with the big brand ones. What my friends and I did was we bought a shuttle pass from 290 shuttle which ran up and down 290 stopping at a total of 17 wineries every 10 minutes and it all ends at 6 PM.
I only got to do five…. because after the 3rd/4th one we were all drunk. It was such a great experience and each winery/vineyard had its unique theme and wines. The five that I went to were each very different and have their own experience. ( In order from the 1st stop to the last stop)
Safari Winery
The first stop for the whole shuttle
Animal theme with deer/animal mounts. The tasting room was gorgeous and the outside area was small with a single patio.
Had the $18 wine tasting - 5 glasses of 1 oz wine
Sweetbriar Rose ( we saw a sign for jello shots and made a stop )
Not the prettiest but has a big backyard - dead when we made the stop
$3 JELLO SHOTS
Grape Creek Vineyards
Gorgeous places - has an entire center-yard with live music
The wine was really good - my favorite is the Rosé. The tasting was $20.
Heath Sparkling Wine
The tasting was $22 and one of the coolest tasting. Each glass came with a piece of food to pair - it was sparkling wine which was very different from all the stilled wine we had been drinking.
Very nice picture place because they had a whole vineyard in the back.
Fat Ass Ranch & Winery
The loudest and most upbeat winery
Super cheap drinks - $10 for a wine tasting
Barn-like vibe with music and corn hole games
Barons Creek Vineyard
Classy feel - gorgeous vineyard! I honestly felt like I was in California
We bought a bottle and split it because we were all very drunk
The overall price for tasting was $10-$22 with it each being 5-6 glasses of 1oz pour. You can mix and match red or white wine. I posted some pictures below so you can see how each place looked. I would highly recommend doing the wine tour. You can always drive yourself from each winery but if you plan on tasting or/and drinking a glass at more than two wineries I would take the shuttle to be safe. Afterward, we drove back and stayed in Austin but they do have Airbnb and hotels in Fredericksburg as well a small cute town center.
Outfit: I wore a long side slit white dress with pink/purple floral. The collar had a drape which made it more elegant looking. I wore chunky brown heeled clogs. The best part was the dress was only $8 at Forever 21 - I got it during their big sale (extra 70% off sales item).
